William & Ann Watkins Ormond Bible
Contributed by Martha Marble
PUBLISHED 1768 by ALEXANDER KINCAID HIS MAJEFTY'S PRINTER
Original on permanent loan by Martha Mewborn Marble to The Lenoir County
Community College, Kinston, N.C.
Ownership of this Book went from Margaret (Peggy) Ormond who married
James Albritton to their daughter Sarah Adelaide who married Levi
Alexander Mewborn and then to their son Thomas W. Mewborn who gave it to
his brother William Edgar Mewborn. From there it went to William's
daughter LuLang who married Duncan A. McKinzie who gave it to her great
niece Martha Sue Mewborn Marble. LuLang was not aware she had it until
it was found in a box when selling her home. It had been considered
missing for over 50 years.
This Prayer Book contains records of the children of William and Ann
Watkins Ormond probably copied from their original Bible. It also
contains records of their son, Thomas, and his family.
