The following is a complete listing of the tombstones in the Best Cemetery in Greene County, NC.
Location In the Bullhead community, take Bullhead Rd. for 1.2 miles. Turn right on Shingleton Rd. and go to end of road. (A home is at the end of the road.) The cemetery is located to the left in a field.
This cemetery is in very poor condition. I looked up some death certificates, and found some of those buried are African Americans; however, the Bests I am sure are whites. I found the death certificates of Dr. Benjamin W. Best and Lila Williams Best who lived and died in Greensboro, but buried in Greene County. I am sure they are probably in this cemetery since one of the stones of a baby lists them as her parents, but the stones are gone or under some of the awful briars that I couldn't get to!
