Sheriff of Greene County Arrests Henry Holland and Mrs.Harvey Walston at Weldon-
Feeling High Against the Man.
Special to The Observer
Kinston,Dec. 15-Sheriff Warren of Greene county arrived in this city last night from
Weldon where he overtook and brought back Henry Holland and Mrs.Harvey Walston who
eloped together last week from the home of Mr. Walston in Greene county.Holand was
placed in jail in this city and is still lodging there as feeling was so high against
him in Greene it was feared that summary punishment might be dealt out to him by
indignant citizens.
It is said to be a particularly sad case as the woman left her husband and four
small children one of the latter a babe three months old.The woman was not in the
custody of the sheriff but returned to her father's home in Greene county Tuesday
night.Treatment on the part of the husband is alleged to be the cause of the wife
and mother's act.
