TEACHERS ENTERTAINED
Those of Greene County the Guests of Mr. and Mrs.Morrill at Maury Hill
play by local tallent.

Snow Hill,August 13,-The teachers of the Greene county institute were de-
lightfully intertained Monday night by Mr. and Mrs.Lawrence V.Morrill at
their beautiful home.The evening was most heartily enjoyed by all present.
The guests were met in the hall by Misses Myrtle Dail,Olive Morrill,Susan
Edwards,Mary Exum and Mesars James Harper and James Exum.Wits were sharpen-
ed upon an original contest,a game originated by Mrs.Morrill.The prize,a
copy of Mrs.Cotton's "White Doe" was won by Mr.Alexander Graham.Delicious
refreshments were servered.
Wednesday night an amateur play,"The Deacon" was given in Snow Hill for the
benefit of the Episcopal Church of Farmville.The acting was good and the play
was well received by a large audience.The following was the cast of the ex-
cellent performance,the credit for which is largely due to Mr. and Mrs.Stanly
Smith,of Farmville.
Deacon Thornton,Mrs.Thornton's brother-in-law,with a passion for lemonaid with
a stick in it,Mr,Otto Turnage,George Graff,Mrs.Thornton's nephew,Mr.J.Stanly
Smith,George Darrah,allas Matt Wheeler,Mr.Chas Moore;James Reed,a friend of
Darrah,Pedro,an organ grinder and Parson Brownlow,Mr. Croom;Billy,the Deacon's
boy,Marvin Haughton;Mrs.Thornton,Miss Lena Hornton;Helen,her daughter,Miss Rosa
Moore;Miss Amelia Faucett,Mrs.Thornton's maiden sister,Mrs.John Thorne,Mrs.Darrah,
George Darrah's wife,Mrs.J.Stanly Smith;Nellie,her child,Vurnice Lang;Daisy,Mrs.
Thornton's servant,Miss Vivian Parker;Pete,Mrs.Thornton's servant,Mr.Mark Turnage.
