TRIBUTE TO JUDGE SHAW
Members of the Bar,at Greene County Court,Hold Meeting and Adopt Resolutions
Commendatory of Judge Shaws Labors on the Bench.The Observer is requested to
print the following.
At a meeting of the members of the bar resident and visiting,practicing in the
courts of Greene county held at the court house in Snow Hill Tuesday,the 11th
day of December.Swift Galloway was called to the chair and J. Paul Frizelle was
requested in a----?law.
The following committee was appointed by the chair to draft resolutions expre-
ssive of the sentiments of the meeting to wit.C.B.Aycock and L.l.? Mo--? and ??
T.C. Wooten,L.V. Mo--LL and C.J.Abernathy who reported the following resolutions
which were unamously adopted to wit.
We the members of the bar practicing in Greene court in meeting assembled do re-
solve.
I-That we use usually averse in resolution of pruise? for the living but in recog-
nition of the part that Judge Thomas J. Shaw with the experation of this the Dec-
ember term,---Greene Superior Court completes his service on the Superior Court
bench,and his while on the bench,done such valuable and concentious work for the
State in a fair and impartical administration of justice we feel it is our duty
tosay that in his retirement from office the State loses on able just learned
and upright --?whose conduct of the high duties of his position has always tended
to strenghten value,uphold the law and make people --?.We desire to explain our
respect and --? and admiration for him and --?to him and asure him of the appreci-
ation of the people of the State of North Carolina in his official service.
II-That we regret his retirement from the bench and wish for him a long and prosp-
erious and useful life and we hope and confidently expect that furthur and higher
honors are in store for him.
III-That a copy of these resolutions be sent to Judge Thomas J. Shaw and published
in the newspapers.
