Notes

Earlene Heath

The pictures of Earlene are like most of my others, older but youngerimages. Earlene has a beautiful and infectious smile that leaves nodoubt that the receipient has been received enthusiastically. She's areal spitfire, which is certainly one of her charms. I enjoyed visitingwith her on my recent trip.

Carl Heath

Carl shares the genealogy bug that has infected us both. He was a hugesource for most of my information pertaining to the Mooring's which Idon't believe I have given proper credit to, but I am still learning andthe source thing...although important, still seems to be my biggesthangup when entering information. So please forgive me, and accept mysincerest appreciation for the information which you have given me.

Bevin Heath

Bevin...what can I say...I got a real kick out of our dinner with thefamily at the Pizza Villa in Kinston, NC. I sure wish I could have metmy cuz' in law and your beautiful baby, but perhaps next time.Hey...what's up with all the back of the head shots? Trust me...you're areal looker and you shouldn't be camera shy...unless you are trying notto appear on America's Most Wanted!!

Samuel Wilkes Holley

In 1938 Samuel Wilkes and his son, Samuel Reubin, were planning onopening a store in Longview, Texas. They went to inspect the storebuilding, as it had been under repair. Either Wilkes or Reubin, and itwill never be known which one, started to light a cigarette. During thebuilding repair someone had left a loose connection on the heater and thenatural gas had accumulated. When the match was struck, the wholebuilding blew up. This happened on January 18, 1938. Wilkes lived aboutseven days before he died. As the family was preparing to take him backto Attala County, Mississippi for burial, the doctors told the familythat Reubin would not live until they returned. Reubin died on January27, 1938. Reubin left a wife, Nan Reese Holley, and two small sons,Nicholas, age 6 years, and Don Holley, age 2 years. Ruebin was buried inKilgore, Texas.
