Looking for any information about the DAIL (pronounced Dale) family from Greene Co. Also looking for any information about any MASONs who might be from the county. Charles MASON (b 1830) m Martha Ann DAIL (b ?). I hit a dead end in Burke Co NC. The Cherokee Co NC 1860 census lists the family from Burke Co. However, I ahve been unable to find out any information about the MASON or DAIL families beyond that time in Burke. Further census informatino shows that the DAIL surname i spredominant in Greene and Person counties. Thanks for your help.

I am looking for any information on the family of Mary ANDERSON and her husband Robert W. THOMAS. Mary was the daughter of George Edward ANDERSON. She was born about 1871 and was dead by 1920. Robert was born about 1874. He remarried by 1920 to Nora _____. Mary and Robert had two children, Annie THOMAS, b 1891, and Edward F. THOMAS, b 1897. They were living in the Jason Twp, Greene County, NC, by 1900 and were there in 1920. Thank you.

I am searching for the ancestors of Bryant TINDLE, who resided in Greene County during the 1830s, but left Greene County in 1840 for Iredell County and eventually moved on to Arkansas. Bryant TINDLE was married to Elizabeth HILL, daughter of Richard HILL and Martha (Patsey) MURPHREY. Based on census records, Bryant was born in 1808. The only TINDLE who had a male child of Bryant's age in both 1810 and 1820 was a James TINDLE of Lenoir County. Can anyone confrim that James TINDLE was Bryant's father or provide any other information on Bryant? Thanks.

Seeking information on William MOZINGO, born approximately 1855, and died 13 June 1928 and buried at Harrell's Chapel Church, Greene Co. He was married to Mary Elizabeth DAWSON, born 30 Oct 1854, died about 1924/25 Greene Co. Need the father and mother of William MOZINGO to further research.

PHILLIPS

Looking for descendants of Thomas (d 1743) and Isabelle PHILLIPS. Moved to Craven Co from Prince George Co, Va c 1740. Had sons John, Mason, Mark, James, Thomas, William, and daughter Mary. They lived in the Eagle Swamp area which is present day Grifton and is in Pitt and Lenoir Counties. Have extensive information on this family and a lot of "holes". Many descendants went to both Ga and Tenn.

There was a Henry GIBBONS who had a land grant very closeby in what was later Lenoir Co, of the right time frame to have possibly been John's father. Have no other leads at this point. Any hints appreciated.

Looking for any information about Rev. Seth SPEIGHT of Greene Co, his wife Elizabeth VINES (d ca 1799,dau of Samuel VINES)and their families. They were parents of Mary "Polly" Vines SPEIGHT who m John Wesley GIBBONS (d 1839). Have no other dates for family. Would appreciate any and all information about the VINES/SPEIGHT families, parents, children, siblings, etc.

Looking for John W. GIBBONS (son of John Wesley GIBBONS) and his siblings, William F, James, Seth and Louiza. Their father died in Greene Co in 1839. In 1841, John W. took guardianship of the four youngest siblings. I can find no records of any of them after this point. Looking for any information as to where they might have gone.

WILLIAMS, MURPHY

I am seeking informatiom about my gg grandfather, Joseph WILLIAMS, who died in Greene County, NC about 1830. He was married to Ava (Avey) MURPHY and his will was probated in Greene County. He ws a wealthy man and gave either a plantation or slaves and personal property to his chidren when he died. My g grandfather, Benjamin Franklin WILLIAMS, was his youngest child and was 16 at time of death and inherited the home plantation known as Clifton Grove. Benjamin Franklin WILLIAMS was a medical doctor and served several terms in the state legislature from Greene County before moving to Georgia in the 1850s. Do you have any information on Joseph or Ava Murphy WILLIAMS? Thank you.
