Will of Lucretia EDWARDS of Greene County, N.C.-4 October 1890 Contributed by Martha Mewborn Marble Copy of the original found in the papers of Frederick Lee Edwards. Will of Lucretia EDWARDS I, Lucretia EDWARDS of the State of North Carolina, Green County, being of sound mind and memory but consideration the uncertainty of my earthly existence do herby make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say: First, that my executor herein after named shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relations and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my debts however and whomsoever owing out of the moneys that may first come into his hands as part or parcel of my estate. Then 2nd I leave and devise to my daughter Pearcy WORRELL one tract of land known as the JONES land containing 120.45 acres during her natural life and enough to pay her burial expenses and Doctors bills and afterwards to the children of Wm. H. EDWARDS, Dec'd. I give and devise to the heirs of Wm. H. EDWARDS, deceased the Old Home Place on appletree containing 170 acres more or less to have and to hold the same. I give my house hold property to Pearcey WORRELL and the heirs of Wm. H. EDWARDS, dec'd; one half of the property to Pearcy WORREL she having choice the other half to the heirs of Wm. H. EDWARDS, Dec'd. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint Hawood EDMENDSON my lawful executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof hereby making and declaring all other wills testaments heretofore by me made utterly void. In Witness I the said Lucretia EDWARDS do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 4th day of October (1890) one thousand eight hundred and ninety.
